The Honorable Lamar Alexander
455 Dirksen Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Alexander,
I was thrilled to see your Tennessee Wilderness Act signed into law on December 20th. Your legislation honors Tennessee’s natural heritage, and protects some of the wildest, most unspoiled areas in our state. I know my gratitude is shared by the many Tennesseans who hunt, fish, hike, and camp in the Cherokee National Forest, not to mention the children who will benefit from your leadership by enjoying these spectacular places for generations to come.
Your success is our success. These protections provide critical migratory corridors between the Cherokee and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, preserve entire watersheds for downstream communities, and even protect one of our continent’s most impressive pathways: the Appalachian Trail. Thank you for your dedication to and leadership on this issue.
